facts about Sugata Mitra

Agent Of Change Sugata Mitra

Sugata Mitra helped kids with their lives. He was an agent of change.he also also volunteered to help kids living in poverty and taught kids to speak english. An agent of change is a person who makes a difference in the world and brings something new into people’s lives also he put some computers in india for the kids and he put them on english and they helped eachother speak english. The effect of the computers in their village helped them with their education and their english.

When the kids were asked about something like easter they had no idea what easter was so they searched it up on the computers and soon after that they knew what it was. There were also granny clouds A Granny cloud is a Grandma from england who skypes kids in india and encourages them and is proudly amazed for the work that they have done.

Sugata Mitra had a wish which is that we design the future of learning. We don't want to be spare parts for a great human computer. In just nine months, a group of children left alone with a computer in any language will reach the same standard as an office secretary in the West.

Information Report Agent of Change: Sugata Mitra

Information Report
Agent of Change: Sugata Mitra
What is the title of your information report?
Agents of Change can make a difference in children’s education
                                 Introduction:
One person can change many lives like a person who opens the gate to learning or opens the future for education in places like India or Colombia maybe even Newcastle in the U.K.I’m talking about a great man called Sugata Mitra. He Introduced something called the hole in the wall which is a computer about 3 feet off the ground in a clay square.
Second paragraph:
Did you know that an agent of change is someone who changes childrens live by teaching english on computers to show that even though some children may  not be able to speak english and that some children do not  need teachers to speak english. He wanted to  students just to have access to the computers and just wanted them to learn without teachers in the way of the students learning.

Third paragraph:
The effect that this had on the village is that they never had a computer before and going to school without teachers might have been hard because this is because he wants to change others lives. He now wants to change lives by letting them do what they want.
Fourth paragraph:
This type of learning has worked because for example the have had praise from grannies in  New Castle. There are many other like aunties, uncles, mums, dad, there is even a grannie cloud. They communicate  over skype, they praise and encourage they don’t teach.
Conclusion:
In the future I think that the teachers will be replaced by computers because the children work well when their in groups.

Eastern Beach 2013

Eastern Beach 2013

One the 7th of February Panmure Bridge School went to Eastern Beach for a picnic .When we got there Mr Johnston told us the rules. Then he sent us to our classes groups . We all went to the sand and the sand was crunchy like egg shells cracking. Then the Juniors got to go swim in the water. The first group that got to go kayaking was group A (Lavinia’s group.)The first skill we learnt was how to use the paddle and how to turn around back to shore. While Mrs Anderson was having grass time and the other teachers to.When it was the second group to go kayaking they were scared . They stepped into the water and a little sea lice was  biting at the bottom of peoples feet. We called hear children laughing and shouting names and saw teachers swimming around with the panmure bridge students, But Mrs Anderson wasn’t swimming because she wasn’t allowed. The seniors in the kayaks were kayaking far far away from land.We had lots of helpers. The kayaks looked like floating bananas on water hahah i laughed to myself in my head. Miss kirkpatrick looked like a flake on top of the banana with whip cream on top with ice-cream yummy i licked my lips and told my friends they said YUM. at the end of kayaking we had to change over in the water most people failed and fell off. After that some of us played soccer Adnan's group won  against  Cyprus group. after A While we all packed up to get ready to go back to school when we got to school we had to wait for miss kirkpatrick when she got back the bell rang then we all went home. happy and tired....
