Piripi's:Speech about rugby

Planning a Persuasive Speech
LI: To plan a persuasive speech
Persuade means, “To make another person believe or do something by presenting compelling evidence or presenting a strong argument”.
Source: Random House Dictionary, 2001.

Here is an example below to show you how to complete your speech plan.

How will you greet your audience?
Good morning teachers, students. Think about plastic! Do we really need it? It is essential for our survival? Can you imagine a world full of plastic and toxic waste? Will our beaches be lined with plastic and litter for eternity, our waters black with pollution? Why are we doing this to our Earth and why are we making it suffer?
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
We’re stuck with it forever. It has become a part of our life. We could not even imagine a life without it. Most plastic is non-biodegradable; so it will never, ever go away.
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic:
Think of all that we use that are made out of plastic: stationery, drink bottles, chairs and even shoes. Think of all the plastic you waste every day?
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view:
Most of it we can use again such as empty soft drink bottles, or garbage bags and shopping bags. There are over sixty different kinds of plastic. If plastic is burned, dangerous gases and fumes are released into the air creating more damage to the ozone layer and making it more difficult for us to breathe. Plastic is a problem on our land and in our water.
List the reasons for sharing your opinion?
Hundreds of fish and other types of marine life are killed by it in the water! Hundreds of bird and animal lives are killed by it on the land! They are choked by it, they are strangled by it, they are entangled in it. Plastic bags floating in the water can be mistaken for food. Many innocent creatures die as a result of this.
List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
One dead whale was found to have fifty plastic bags stuck in its throat. Forty-five out of fifty deaths of albatrosses found had died as result of eating plastic. Diving seabirds have had their necks and wings in plastic six-pack bindings, all because of man’s laziness to dispose of rubbish properly. Imagine one of these deaths: slow, painful, merciless death. Which way would you prefer to die? Have thought for these creatures! If we are not careful, all animals will die out. Animals are necessary to keep the Earth’s ecosystems together. We should respect them. If animals can’t live, we certainly don’t deserve to!
Add your own question here. Remember to use emotive language to shock your audience and make them think:
You may be wondering about how to minimise the amount of harmful plastic.
Do you have a solution to the problem?
Well, there are many ways. For instance, you could take your own shopping bag or basket when you go shopping, choose goods and foods that can be stored in something other than plastic or simply recycle your plastic. But there are never enough ways to get rid of it. If you know of some other ways, don’t keep them family secrets. Let the whole world know! It will just make that little difference for our Earth.
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.
Plastic is really too harmful for us not to really pay attention to. So, please care about our planet. It’s your home and every other generation is the same. If you want to live on this Earth, you must look after it. If you spoil the planet, you’re spoiling the privilege of living on it! Just keep all this in mind every time you hear about pollution or, more importantly, all the time.

how will you greet your audience?
:Good morning teachers student’s and Mr Johnston I will be talking about rugby  and why we can play .
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
did you know that rugby originated in England in the 19th century?. When you play rugby the game involves two teams of 15 players each side, the stadium is a big oval shape and the goalpost is shaped as a H and the rugby field is 64 meters long.
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic:  How many kids do you think play rugby in schools and clubs? Do you think it is 20,000  ,2,000,000 or 200,000 and also how many teams do you think there is in rugby.if you thought  16 your right.
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view: Rugby is a team sport  and I like to be part of a team. I get a feeling of  good sportsmanship when I'm about to play rugby and  we see the other team who has  really big people in.
List the reasons for sharing your opinion: Rugby is an aggressive sport but it brings opportunity and awareness.Rugby gives boys the opportunity to blow off their steam and keep control of their emotions and aggression when the going gets tough.

List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
2 million kids play rugby in schools and clubs and 20,000 didn't get hurt playing rugby.  Lets say we can play teachers.
Add your own question here. Remember to use emotive language to shock your audience and make them think:Don't you think we can play rugby in winter ask your teachers to play? we should be able to play rugby?

Do you have a solution to the problem?
Nobody will fight will we if we fight  we stop the fights we deal with it
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.Rugby is an aggressive sport but it brings opportunity and awareness.Rugby gives boys the opportunity to blow off their steam and keep control of their emotions and aggression when the going gets tough.   I hope you listened to me who agrees with me?
